There are fitters, and then there are fitters. Aidan Hammond forms part of the latter group. He is one of the most respected bike fitters in the UK & Ireland.
Aidan is a neuromuscular physical therapist, a massage therapist and one of Cycling Irelands most experienced Level 3 coach’s. Aidan performs all of our fits for clients who take the time to visit Dublin. In fact, he performs well over 1000 fits a year. But deep down Aidan had a secret.
Like many of our clients Aidan was in between sizes. No amount of tinkering or swapping stems could get what he tries to capture every single day… the perfect fit. That’s where this story started.
We had a long look at Aidan’s past bikes to find out what he liked and disliked about each of them. We incorporated the long tube that he couldn’t find on a standard sized frame without compromising the feel and handling of the bike.
Aidan chose a Shimano Dura Ace Di2 groupset and an ENVE 3.4 wheelset. We customised the cockpit and seat post to match his design. He used his company logo and corporate colours combined with some base colours that we established on his Pinterest file.
The bike was aptly christened on the annual 180km Ring of Kerry sportif and continues to delight ever since.
